Eleven-second timeslips are earned, not lucked into. At a recent test and tune afternoon at California Speedway in Fontana, owner Jeff Paulin of Mission Viejo, California, hit a number of milestones specific to this particular 1970 El Camino: First, he broke into the 11s, running an 11.928 quarter-mile, storming through the traps at 113.71 mph. Second, on the way home, he turned 200,000 miles on the clock.
